It's the first dance....
So, Patricia and I have been having issues picking our first song.
Below are the three options, along with the song itself for download and the lyrics.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Song #1: One by Eddie from Ohio
Why? This was the first song I requested for Patricia at an EFO concert and it sums up how we feel for each other.
Lyrics
first it happened slowly then quickly came unveiled as madness disguised as something sane he never meant to he wrapped her up in his life she stuck to it like glue round and round they spin weaving in the night tapestry will envelope them they'll fight the good fightone heart cannot hold all of this
one man's grace is another man's hell
two souls can melt together
'til one can no longer find itselfthey kept up appearances
for family and friends
he coveted her soul
she put up no defense
we all began to notice
unmistakable signs
they were never in the same room
at the very same time
and in the hiding of their bedroom
one hybrid voice was heard
two would shed their clothing
one body would emergeCHORUS
round and round they spin
weaving in the night
tapestry will envelope them
they'll fight the good fightCHORUS

Song #2: Mushaboom by Feist
Why? Honestly, we just like the lyrics. It feels like us. It feels like how we want to be.
Lyrics:
Helping the kids out of their coats
But wait the babies haven't been born oh
Unpacking the bags and setting up
And planting lilacs and buttercups oh
But in the meantime we've got it hard
Second floor living without a yard
It may be years until the day
My dreams will match up with my pay
Old dirt road,
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
knee deep snow
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
Watching the fire as we grow
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
o-o-o-o-old
I got a man to stick it out
And make a home from a rented house oh
And we'll collect the moments one by one
I guess that's how the future's done oh
How many acres, how much light
Tucked in the woods and out of sight
Talk to the neighbours and tip my cap
On a little road barely on the map
Old dirt road,
mushaboom, mushaboom)
knee deep snow
mushaboom, mushaboom)
Watching the fire as we grow,
mushaboom, mushaboom)
o-o-o-o-old
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
Old dirt road rambling rose
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
Watching the fire as we grow
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
Well I'm Sold...

Song #3: I'm a Rover by Great Big Sea
Why? Because it'd be a laugh.
Lyrics:
Though the night be dark as dungeon, not a star to be seen above
I will be guided without a stumble, into the arms of me only love.
I went up to her bedroom window, kneeling gently upon a stone
I rapped on her bedroom window "My darling dear, do you lie alone"?
[Chorus:]
I'm a rover , seldom sober
I'm a rover of high degree
Ans when I'm drinking, I'm always thinking
How to gain my love's company.
She raised her head up from her feather pillow, raised her arms up around her breast,
Saying "Who's at me bedroom window, disturbing me at me long night's rest?
"It's only me, your own true lover, open the door and please let me in.
For I have come on a long night's journey. I am near drenched to the skin".
[Chorus]
She opened the door with the greatest pleasure, opened the door and she let me in
We both shook hands and embraced each other. 'Til the morning we lay as one.
"Well now me love, I must go and leave you, though the mountains be high above
Well, I will climb them with greater pleasure that I have been with me only love".
